A home inspection company built by people who
know real estate
Model Home Inspections started with a simple observation from years in the brokerage world: deals rarely fall apart because of the house itself.
They fall apart because of waiting, whether that's waiting for an inspector to have an opening or waiting on a report nobody can make sense of. We built a woman-owned company to take the waiting out of the process, with certified inspectors who show up quickly and reports written for real people.
Meet the founders
Heather Reeves, MBA,
Co-Founder
Heather has spent more than a decade on the other side of the inspection report. As the founding broker of Origin Real Estate in Orange County, she has guided buyers and sellers through hundreds of Orange County transactions and seen firsthand how one report can make a deal, stall it, or quietly cost a client thousands. She knows what agents need to keep an escrow moving, what lenders will flag, and what keeps a first-time buyer up at night.
Model Home Inspections grew out of a simple frustration: reports that are too long to read, too vague to act on, and delivered too late to matter. Heather's goal is an inspection that buyers can use and agents can trust. Model Home Inspections operates independently of Origin Real Estate, and every report is written for the client, not the deal.
Nicole Haymovitz, Co-Founder
Before Model Home Inspections, Nicole spent three years at CORT helping families and transferring employees settle into new cities, often on tight corporate timelines and in markets they had never seen. Many of those clients were committing to a home from hundreds of miles away, which meant the inspection report had to serve as their walkthrough, their second opinion, and their peace of mind all at once.
That experience shapes how Nicole thinks about this business. She knows a clear, well-organized report matters most to the people who can't be there in person, and that fast, reliable turnaround is not a nice-to-have when the closing date is fixed and the moving truck is already booked.
Nicole brings a coordinator's eye for detail and a real respect for what a move costs a family. At Model Home Inspections, she makes sure every client, local or relocating, understands exactly what they are buying.
An inspection is only as useful as it is honest, so we keep ours independent. We never inspect a property our brokerage is involved in buying or selling, and we never pay agents or anyone else for referrals. The only person your inspector is working for is you.
Certified, insured, and local
Our inspectors hold certifications through the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA), the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), and the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI). They follow those organizations' Standards of Practice and carry [errors and omissions and general liability insurance].
